I’m thrilled to be performing at the Christmas Lights Switch On event in Heywood, Rochdale (starting from 5pm). I can’t think of a more perfect context for a performance which is essentially its own illuminated attraction: part light show, part disco, part fariground, part confession.
The event begins with the true story of an annual fair which has been operating in the same market square since 1221. At some point in the narration I undergo a transformation. By the end, you, the audience, are dancing unreservedly to an hour-long mega mix of cathertic 1990s Eurotrance.
It will be fun, transportive and, I hope, oddly moving.
